The Emperor of Rock

The Emperor of Rock and King of Live - lived up to his name. I've watched him perform live for at least 4 times.

Each and everytime, after the concert ends, I'm in overdrive.

Each and everytime, Wu Bai performs at least 3 encores.

Who the hell does that anymore??

And people can actually put up with Rihanna and Maroon 5 play for 45-50 mins.

It's like they're saying "be thankful we're in Asia - and got 45-50 mins of my time".

If musicians do not appreciate the fans that made them who they are - then they don't deserve our love and admiration.

Enjoy the pix! This took place at Suntec Convention Centre (lousy sound system) on 5 April 08.

and i never get sick of hearing him sing 痛哭的人 and 爱你一万年. And everytime i hear him sing 牵卦 - i fall in love! cos he does this amazing thing with the song when he sings live.

if you have an mp3 of that version - live version of 牵卦 - then pls get in touch :)

the first post - an introduction

This blog is birthed as a result of my new-found passion: photography.

Rock photography to be precise.

I came across this booklet with a Rolling-Stones-worthy cover, it caught my eye and i started reading it, to realise there is such a thing as rock photography.

I live for music. I love music. And i love it even more when it's live. I made it a personal achievement as well as a hobby to attend live concerts.

The first concert I ever been to was when i was in Primary 3? so that was 9 years old. Bought the cheapest tickets where I could see nothing - but I was too young to know what's going on anyway. it's an all-star concert with people like aaron kwok + i can't remember.

Primary 4, my family won a pair of tickets to the Jacky Cheung concert.

He postponed his concert and I remember vividly, I had tuition on that day. So my tuition teacher + my family didn't allow me to go since the rescheduled date falls on the week before my streaming exams.

!@#$%^&*()@#$%^&*(!@#$%^&*(!@#$%^&

If only i grew up sooner.

Missing ANY concerts for tuition class is pathetic.

Not to say, futile. that 1.5 hours at the class isn't gonna make you top the class if you weren't able to top it anyway.

Anyway.. that's over. Then followed by Faye Wong. I think I went to her concert in '98? It was on a V-Day and I went with my mom. Fantastic concert but i couldn't remember much.

And I've been to see Wu Bai - which i remember vividly. 3 encores mannnn. Also seen Wu Bai live for free at one outdoor concert to celebrate national day - that was when i was 17. to date, I've seen wu bai live at least 4 times. And i'm thrilled and excited each and everytime.

Then subsequently i've been to a few... the cranberries+no doubt double-bill... the robbie williams concert.. the rolling stones (cos i won the tickets from the now-defunct channel i).

I really kicked it up a notch when i was in brisbane, australia. i went on a concert spreeeeeeeee. =D

I've seen Billy Corgan (the closest I'll get to Smashing Pumpkins), Coldplay (TWICE!), The Strokes, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Well John Mayer and RHCP was a long story which i will tell slowly, but surely. right here on this blog.

From now on, i'll blog about my concert experience - not really reviewing them - but how i see and hear them from my eyes + ears.

And pictures galore. I bought myself a Canon S5-IS, and it's fabulous. The pictures quality are excellent. Video qualities are great, beyond great actually.

See the music alive, through my eyes.
